You are invited to a Celebration of Life for Rev. Tim Yeager on September 14th, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm at St. Margaret of Scotland Episcopal Church. This is an open invitation to all who loved Tim, so please help us spread the word.
Event Details:
The church is located at 2555 E 73rd St, Chicago, IL 60649. Both the front and the side entrance by the parking lot will be open, although the side entrance is closer to the downstairs community room where most of the festivities will be taking place.
There is on-street parking available and a limited number of spots in the church parking lot.
If you intend to take public transportation, Bus 71 Stop “Exchange & 73rd Street” is 1 city block away and Metra Electric Train Stop “South Shore” is 4 city blocks away.
Hearty snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. If you wish to bring a dish to share, potluck-style gifts are more than welcome (such as desserts and salads).
In the spirit of making the world a better place, there will also be a table in the community room where attendees are welcome to put literature, petitions, and community organizing materials, and discuss issues with each other. Bring your buttons and bumper stickers!
As the church has no elevator or ramp to access the event space, please contact Ayshe no later than September 4th at workingpartypriest@gmail.com if you will require assistance. While this event will not be live-streamed, video will be taken for parts of the event and shared online afterwards. Please email the afore-mentioned address if you wish to be added to the email list for those videos.
For out-of-state and out-of-country travelers, if you are in need of a place to stay for the weekend in order to attend the event, several folks in the Chicago area have offered their guest bedrooms. Please write to workingpartypriest@gmail.com if you’d like to get connected.
Please feel welcome to bring fun stories, pictures, and food to share, and make sure to wear your favorite union or political button!
Final note: There is a piano at the church folks are welcome to play on, and if you "know a guy" who can play Union Maid on the accordion, let us know!

This site is a tribute to Tim Yeager, who was born in Charles City, Iowa on August 24, 1950. He is much loved and will always be remembered by the numerous communities and families he influenced.
Tim's funeral service occurred over two days in Waltham Abbey, U.K. and all were welcome to attend. On the evening of Friday 19 April Tim's coffin was carried from the funeral home, down the street past the house, and into the Abbey Church for a service of vigil and prayer. Tim's body then remained overnight in the Sanctuary of the Abbey Church. The Funeral Service itself was held on Saturday 20 April, followed by a Committal outside the church and a reception.
The Saturday service was live-streamed on YouTube and the recording is now available for viewing here: https://youtube.com/live/jBmCcnc8Gag?feature=share
